In-Game Backstory:
Gregory House was born to Blythe and John House, a military family, his father in the marines as a pilot. They traveled and moved often, once to Japan where the treatment, glory, of a famous doctor by the people caught House’s attention. It became one of the reasons he chose to study medicine.
House’s relationship with his father is complicated and not quite fully explained. In one episode when a rape victim asks ‘what happened to him (House)’ (to make him the charming man he is) he told a story of his grandmother, ‘Oma,’ who abused him. The patient called him out on lying and later in the episode he admits it was his father, not his grandmother. In later episodes we learn he wasn’t his birth father, something House had always expected.
House went to John Hopkins University until he was caught cheating by a fellow student (who he later ruins the man’s migraine study in revenge) and ultimately was kicked out. He meets Lisa Cuddy, his future boss, in the University of Michigan where he ends up. canon-wise (for the sake of the rp I’m not sure where this would be, since it would depend on Cuddy’s player as well.) Ten years before the show begins he meets Stacy Warner, a lawyer, and begins a relationship with her. He also meets James Wilson at a medical conference, annoying the man in a bar until Wilson accidentally breaks a mirror because of it. House bails him out and sets him up with a lawyer out of boredom and the two become friends, the only real friend House seems to have.
Five years before the show begins House suffers an aneurysm in his leg that leads to an infraction. The infraction is misdiagnosed by the doctors for days until House diagnosed it himself.
House was willing to undergo painful and dangerous work in order to keep function in his leg. When he was put in a medical coma in order to sleep through most of the pain Stacy, his medical proxy, had the doctors do the safer procedure, leaving House with serious but lessened pain and partial use of his leg. He blames Stacy for the decision and she leaves him.
He ends up in Mt Sinai Hospital, becoming the head of the Diagnostic Department. Both Cuddy and Wilson work in the hospital as well, Cuddy the medical dean and Wilson in charge of oncology . House takes on three underlings, Chase, Cameron and Foreman, and the series begins and continues with their work through difficult medical cases and personal dilemmas. Eventually the three move on (through a firing of Chase that leads to them all leaving) and after a good amount of fighting he begrudgingly tries out several other's until he gains a new 'team.'
